Hi there. I'm a GNU/Linux system administrator by trade; I live and work outside Washington, DC. I work at a scientific agency of the federal government (which I'm not naming, even though it's not a secret, because this is my personal web site, and I'm not speaking for anyone but myself. If you're really curious about who I work for, ask me offline.) I've also worked in the academic and private sectors, and spent a few years trying my hand at web development.

Outside of work, I am primarily a family man, but I also enjoy music, baseball, spicy foods, cold beer, and a great many other things. I sometimes make it out to events that interest me.

I use Fossil to maintain this site. If you have Fossil installed, you can clone everything here with:

fossil clone http://mcornick.com/fossil.cgi

Send me mail at mcornick@mcornick.com if you like. I might even reply. Use my PGP/GPG public key for privacy. I can also do XMPP at the same address, but I'll need to authorize you first, so please start with email.

You might also want to follow my Identi.ca microblog.

I support the FSF, EFF and Creative Commons; you should too.
